MT754 Buckshot Mudder Old Mate. Legend.

THE TYRE THAT REIMAGINED MUD TYRES.

The Buckshot Mudder arrived on our shores in the early 2000s – no one really remembers exactly when – and set to work right away to blow away the idea that mud tyres needed to be slippery and noisy on the road.  It went on to carve out a legend for itself as a good-at-everything tyre.  On the road.  In the gravel.  In the mud.  No matter what the surface the Buckshot could handle it and come back for more.

The Buckshot got itself a deserved reputation for incredibly long wear, putting in the hours out in the paddocks, on the work sites and on the trails.  It was a tough old beast that never accepted defeat, like that old Hilux that seemed to do everything, go everywhere and never kick up a fuss. 

Here in NZ, like thousands of Buckshot fans we grieved for the Buckshot when it was discontinued because we wanted it to go on forever.  But calls had to be made overseas and most of the rest of the world had moved on to bigger and newer utes that called for tyres of their own generation. 

But here’s the thing of it.  The Buckshot isn’t with us in its original form anymore.  But the legend – and all the learnings that come from beating around the paddocks for 20 years – lives on.  The Bighorn MT and the newer and better known Razr are the third and fourth generation of Buckshots.  They’ve taken all the best of the Buckshots and reimagined them to ensure they also work for newer and larger utes.  They grip.  They’re quiet.  They’re super puncture proof.  And like the trademark classic before them, when you want them to, they just get on with the job.
